Situated on the east side of Plymouth City Centre, this is a central area of Plymouth that almost exclusively consists of Victorian terrace houses. Developed by Quakers in the turn of the century, a covenant bans alcohol licenses being granted in St Judes area.

There are good links out of the City to the A38. The area has many play parks and football pitches with all-weather facilities at Lipson Academy. The local Tothill Park has a kids play area, tennis courts, bowling green and community centre. St Jude’s Church is a Church of England church in Plymouth. It was designed by the Plymouth architect James Hine and constructed in 1875–76, with the work being carried out by Messrs Blatchford and Son of Tavistock for the princely sum of £3,600.

Demograhically, there is a real mix of family residents, first time buyers, house shares and lets. The geography means many of the houses sit in stepped terraces making the roads look very distinctive. Mount Gould community hospital is a convenient location for health care needs.

There are several schools including Salisbury Road Primary School, Lipson Vale Primary school & Lipson Co-operative academy. Close by the Prince Rock Primary has an excellent Ofsted rating in 2020. There are a number of small convenience stores supporting residents with main grocery shopping slightly further afield.
